Time Capsule

I'm so excited for my time capsule! I have been working so hard on it, and it is finally complete!

Here's how to do it:
1. Get a shoe box and decorate it any way you want.
2. Gather the supplies you want to put in it and put them in your time capsule.

Here is what I put:
  • Newspaper
  • Photos of yourself, family, and friends
  • Grocery Store Ad
  • Music CD
  • Technology Ad
  • Shirt that has the year on it
  • Clothing Store Ad
  • Your Bucket List
  • List of your favorites*
  • How you imagine your future*
* I would write these in your own handwriting, so you can remember how your handwriting looked.

3. Write who created it, when it was created, how old you were when you created it, and the date when you want to open it on your time capsule. I'm going to open mine when I have a son/daughter who is sixteen. Then I will ask them if they want to create one for themselves. Hopefully it will become a tradition.

4. Put the time capsule in a place you will forget about it. I'm going to put mine in my closet. I wouldn't recommend putting it anywhere outside because it could ruin it.

This is my time capsule!!!

Camping

It's an annual family tradition to go camping. If you've never done it before, put it on your bucket list.

Here's what we did:
Rode in the back of a truck
Went Fishing
Built fairy houses
Made popcorn, S'mores, orange rolls ect... over a fire
Went tubing in the lake
Played games
Sang camping songs
Slept in a tent
Danced with glow sticks
Skipped rocks on the lake

Cooking croissant and cinnamon roll dough over the fire
Riding in the back of the truck
Come here fishy!
My favorite cousin!
Tubing in the freezing water!
By the end of the trip I'm pretty sure I smelled like a mixture of sweat, smoke, bug spray, and sunscreen, but it was worth it!

Oodles of Doodles

I have always wanted to decorate a plain pair of white shoes. Taking something boring, and changing it into something exciting... it's pretty fun!

Started out with a $6.00 pair of shoes from Walmart.

My decorated shoes!
Got some permanent markers and just starting doodling all over!

My sis, Sydney's decorated shoes!
They ended up pretty cute.
I must say, they will match with pretty much anything.

Easy Crock Pot Chicken Tacos

If you want a delicious and super easy taco recipe, this is for you!

All you need is 3-4 lbs of chicken (we used chicken breasts), 1/2 packet of taco seasoning, and a container of salsa (we used Pace). I like to puree the salsa so it's not chunky. All you got to do is stick that in a crock pot, stir it around a little, put it on high for 5ish hours, and shred the chicken with a fork (it should be tender and fall apart super easy).

Mix these with chicken in a crock pot
This is what the chicken looks like shredded
Yummy Taco!

Lets go fly a kite

So funny story today..

Cute ladybug kite!!!
It was a nice windy day; perfect for flying kites, which was on my summer bucket list! My sister, Sydney, and I went over to the school field. I got the kite in the air, way up high. We had fun taking pictures.

She's pretty cute I must say

After awhile we wanted to be done, so I started reeling the kite back in....but I accidentally let go of the handle. I ran as fast as I could to try and grab it, but I guess the wind is faster than me. The kite flew up and over the school and the handle landed on the power line on the other side....uh oh!

See that handle and the kite way up there...problem!
So what do you do when you kite is stuck on a power line right by a busy street? Well, I got my mom to call the power company after she finished laughing. They said they might send someone out. After blowing in the wind for another three hours, it finally fell into a backyard. So we grabbed the kite and had to cut the string. I'm left with a kite without a handle, but where is the handle you may ask...it's still hanging on the power line.

Lesson learned: Don't let go of the handle of a kite.

Making Popsicles

Nothing feels more like summer than eating a cool popsicle on a hot day. Since making popsicles is on my summer bucket list and it is a hot day, I decided to try out a recipe I found for Double Berry Pops. They were made with greek yogurt and berries. I messed up and forgot to put the sticks in before I froze them so they ended up being more of a push pop. But hey, I think it's more fun to eat it like that.

I don't think I will make popsicles using this recipe again because I didn't like all the seeds in them
...but they look really cute!

Healthy Chicken Nuggets

If you like chicken nuggets from fast food restaurants, you are going to love these! They are ten million billion times better, and healthier too! They are baked not fried so they are a lot lower in fat. They are so easy to make even my dad could do it. :)

We had them with some BBQ sauce and honey for dipping. Yum....Good!

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 lb chicken tenders cut into 2 in pieces
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup dried bread crumbs (preferably whole wheat)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F
2. In a medium bowl combine flour, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss chicken in the mixture.
3. Pour milk into a shallow bowl. Dip chicken pieces in the milk.
4. Pour bread crumbs onto a large plate. Roll chicken in the crumbs.
5. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and place the chicken on the sheet. Spray the chicken with cooking spray again. Bake 20 minutes or until cooked thoroughly.

There you go! Enjoy!

I'm not peRfect

I found a cute quote on Pinterest the other day.

"Today is the perfect day for a perfect day."

One of the things on my summer bucket list is to draw with chalk, so I decided to draw this quote on my driveway hoping it would make someones day.
This is how it turned out...

I was so proud of my beautiful artwork, until my sister said, "Did you mean for it to say PEFECT?"

Yup, now I'm embarrassed... It shows how imperfect I am. But it's pretty ironic. I had a great day today. I was happy, I went shopping, it was good weather, nothing really went wrong...except for my little typo on the driveway. I'd call it a perfect day, even though I wasn't perfect. Everyone makes mistakes and if it weren't for those mistakes no one could learn from them. I guarantee I will never misspell perfect again. :)

Turns out my little driveway drawing made my day.
